SAUSALITO/BURLINGTON – October 30, 2020 – Guru—a bi-coastal creative agency that catalyzes the purpose-driven organizations sparking transformation for the greater good—is proud to announce the expansion of its creative crew with two new hires.
Under the leadership of Associate Creative Director Vance Kiviranna, Abbey and Lauren will strategize and bring to life winning creative concepts and messaging that connect with key audiences.
Abbey Tiderman, Copywriter will create original branding, advertising, social and website messaging for clients. She has a personal commitment for doing work that betters both people and the planet — making her feel right at home with Guru.
As a seasoned marketing copywriter, Abbey produced content for major brands, including Disney, Dunkin’, Huggies, M&M’s, Staples and more. Prior to joining Guru, she served as the Senior Copywriter at GYK Antler. During college, she was a full-time volunteer working with disabled children in the United Kingdom and later spent two years teaching English at an international preschool in Sweden. Abbey obtained her English degree from the University of Massachusetts, with a concentration in Professional Writing.
When she’s not crafting stories to help solve creative problems, Abbey can be found hiking, biking, running and reading. She’s also an avid Tottenham Hotspurs soccer fan — a passion she shares with her husband and two sons.
Lauren Laspisa, Art Director will propel clients by crafting compelling visual stories. She, too, is guided by an ethos rooted in making a positive impact.
Lauren is an award-winning creative talent whose expertise spans industries including entertainment, retail, athletics, nonprofits and real estate. She has worked with UN Women, PlayStation Fiesta Bowl, Arizona Lottery and Sigma Foods to name a few. Prior to joining Guru, Lauren served as Art Director at OH Partners. She is also currently the Vice President of Marketing for Kid in the Corner, a non-profit dedicated to starting conversations about mental health and inspiring kids to build peer connections through education, awareness and simple acts of kindness.
Born and raised just outside of Chicago, Lauren moved to Arizona to escape brutal winters and embrace the sunshine. She enjoys hiking, camping, meditation and capturing stunning photographs. Lauren is also the proud mama to her fur-baby, Luna.
